Situated roughly half way between the Shetland Isles and Iceland, The Faroe Isles are a self governing dependency of Denmark.
The currency is the Danish Kroner. These remote islands with a population of approx 50,000, have seen a growth in travel and tourism, and with the genral growth in affordable airtravel have seen an increse in visitors, particularly intereted in teh natural beauty and birdlife.
